A dark gothic top-down action RPG
As the last Sworn knight, descend into a bottomless monastery where all who enter are said to find new halls and corridors.
Coming Soon on Steam · Google Play · App StoreWeb demo: Chapel floors 1-3 · Survival up to the first Warden · No download or login · Mouse, keyboard, gamepad or touch
Three hundred years ago, the monastery of St. Arden sank whole into the earth, leaving nothing above but a staircase leading down. The monastery still stretches endlessly downward, and no one has ever seen its floor. People call it the Abyss.
You are the Sworn, the last of a knightly order that vowed to seal it.
The Abyss grows. It is said that everyone who descends finds new rooms and corridors, and every third floor a Warden stands guard. Defeat it, or the stairs stay shut.
Swing your blade to send out sword waves, roll out of danger, and unleash spells.
From a ruined chapel down to a living, breathing stratum of flesh.
The Abyss shows new halls to everyone who descends. Yesterday's map is useless today.
Guardians block the way down, alongside elite monsters with special traits.
Four rarities, random affixes, legendary weapons with on-hit powers, and a wandering goblin merchant.
Learn magic from scrolls found in the depths.
Rise again from your last cleared floor and push deeper.
Three difficulty levels, five save slots, mouse & keyboard or gamepad.
Hold out in a single arena as monsters from ever-deeper floors pour in over time and Wardens rise to meet you. How long can you last? See, live, how many challengers have survived as long as you.
Descend the Abyss floor by floor and topple the Wardens. The full campaign plays on your phone too, with touch controls you can handle one-handed.
Endless waves pour in, and every floor the arena's walls grind into a new shape. See live how many challengers have lasted as long as you, this week and of all time.
Adventurers descend into a single dungeon, hunt monsters for gear, and fight one another as the dungeon closes in from the outside, until only one is left standing. There are no levels: you grow stronger only through the gear you find in that match. It launches first as a bot match, with online battles against other players planned for 2027.
Every three floors the Abyss changes. Each depth ends with a Warden.
Every depth has its own foes, and a Warden guards the end of each one. Meet the six Wardens and twenty kinds of monsters.
| Name | Story | |
|---|---|---|
![]() | Wandering Monk | Those who sank with the Abyss. For three hundred years they have kept watch over their chapel. |
![]() | Choir Wraith | Still cannot let go of the last note of the last Mass. Guests who miss the beat get a wailing harmony. |
![]() | Lantern Bearer | The only light that never went out in the darkened monastery. When it raises its lantern, sleeping brothers open their eyes one by one. |
![]() | Warden of the Altar | The very altar the monks raised to seal the Abyss. It received prayers for so long that it forgot how to protect those who pray. |
![]() | Skeleton Archer | Older than the monastery. It was down there before the monks ever began to dig. |
![]() | Grave Swarm | The only living guest left in the ossuary. Thousands of wings move with a single hunger. |
![]() | Bone Pile | It stopped asking whose bones they were long ago. Shatter it, and each piece scatters to find its owner. |
![]() | Bone Shard | Even broken from the pile, it misses the heap. Underestimate it for its size and it goes for your ankles. |
![]() | Bell Ringer | When he rings the bell, the living cover their ears and the dead rise. The bell cracked long ago, but no one has told him. |
![]() | Bone-Gathering Warden | It picked up the ossuary's bones one by one and fixed them to itself. There are still gaps, and your bones look like a perfect fit. |
![]() | Ink Pool | The books of the Drowned Library, melted and pooled. Step in it and someone's final sentence clings to your feet. |
![]() | Scribe Wraith | Ordered to record everything in the Abyss. Guests beyond its pen's reach, it records with spirit bolts. |
![]() | Drowned Choir | They did not stop singing even as the water rose in the library. They sing still, without a single breath. |
![]() | Ink-Drowned Warden | It has bled ink ever since it swallowed every forbidden book in the library. Unable to forget a single word it read, it forgot how to laugh. |
![]() | Imp | Made by the Abyss itself. Small, fast, and laughing. |
![]() | Blind Sentinel | It erased its own eyes so as never to see the Nameless Chamber. In return, it never misses a single footstep. |
![]() | The Doorless | Born in a room whose door had vanished. So it only knows how to come and go without one. |
![]() | Name-Erased Warden | It erased its own name so that none could summon it. No one has called it since, and it is a little hurt by that. |
![]() | Ash Hound | A hound that hunts by scent in the Burning Depths. It keeps barking long after its prey has turned to ash. |
![]() | Powder Grub | It carries a belly full of the Depths' heat. Its only flaw is that it wants to hug everyone. |
![]() | Forge Golem | The forge the monks built to temper the sealing chains walked out on its own. It still longs to melt something. |
![]() | Ash-Eating Warden | It grew up eating the ash of the Burning Depths. It is already waiting for the ash you will leave behind. |
![]() | Flesh Mass | Excess flesh shed by the Living Stratum as it breathes. It crawls about, looking for anywhere to reattach. |
![]() | Flesh Chunk | Still too young to be a mass. It swims through the ground and pops up underfoot to say hello. |
![]() | Wall Maw | When the floor is hungry, mouths open in the walls. This one has been starving for quite a while. |
![]() | Warden Become Wall | It stood so long it became one with the walls of the floor. Every breathing wall on this floor is its skin. |
